First of all i want to say that Zumdahl is fantastic. I love his work and his textbooks.

Chemical principles is a rigorous and through college entry level chemistry textbook. It assumes a slight amount of previous knowledge of the material, but even without it, a mind designed for chemistry would have no problem learning from this textbook.

I find that many people are complaining about its difficulty because of the subject matter, not the book itself. This is not Zumdahl's chemistry, it is Chemical Principles, an honors level textbook. It is much more quantitative and shows many more derivations than his other textbooks, which for someone like me (a physics major) is absolutely what I look for in a textbook.

Bravo Zumdahl.

This product was just as described by the seller. Perfect condition, no writing, water marks, or tears. The actual book though, I feel sorry for anyone who's professor is using this book. Other Chemistry books break down the information so it isn't an overload. This book crams three and four topics in one chapter which makes it really hard to absorb all the necessary info.

This book is very poorly written. Avoid this book at all costs if you can but I am assuming most of you can't bc your course requires it. I would recommend trying to find a different chemistry book to look at simultaneously throughout the course. Check out collegechemistrynotes.com The book says it is a "college level book that assumes a well-based high school knowledge of chemistry." This is just a front for how poorly written, diluted, and confusing Zumdahl makes....everything! The study guide is just as bad and unnecessarily expensive. I guess this book is meant to try and weed people out of chemistry. I have read plenty of negative reviews about this book and you'd like to think universities would respond to this, but for some reason this book seems to be everywhere. What happened to being in the best interest of students? This book sucks.
