5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book to follow, but haven't seen many users, July 23, 2009

3 months back, I heard Nova's GMAT Prep Course, is a great book. I checked that it got good reviews on amazon. I was concerned that there are some errors in the book but thanks they added that if you need only 750+ without fail, this is the only book, that can guarantee. So I bought the book especially since I had time and nuts had me telling that this is a career booster. I got that score that I was looking for. Now, I don't know if there are any errors in the book, but that doesn't concern me now.

I can guarantee that this book can get near 800 score to anyone who has worked thoroughly on each page of the book.

But just as one review explains, the book does not seem to have that appeal the users need. I find there are not many users of this book.

I used this book after using some of MGMAT's books. The GMAT Math Prep Course text is excellent, with many, many examples and reasonably good explanations. HOWEVER, you have to have a SOLID FOUNDATION to be able to use this book because it focuses (mostly) on 600-800 level problems without explaining all the finer math principle details (author assumes that you know them, and you will, if you use the MGMAT guide Manhattan GMAT Set of 8 Strategy Guides, Fourth Edition (Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guides)).

WARNING: the Kindle version contains many errors! The errors are OK and you figure them out after reading the problem explanations, but these errors CAN and WILL get frustrating at times. The number of errors greatly decreases towards the middle of the book. I contacted Amazon support about this issue and the support personnel...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars You can count on this book for 700+ Score, October 4, 2011

Thorough Book to count on for GMAT score. This is a terrific, thoughtful, thorough book aimed at preparing people for doing well on the analytical sections of the GMAT General test. My experience is that I did *middling* on a taking of the test last December, bought and worked through (parts of) the book, and did very well in a taking of the test three months later. The key, for me, was time management, answering all 28 questions as well as I could in the time allotted. Practically speaking, this came down to warming up decades-old math skills by practice, practice, practice. The book has extensive sets of exercises and guidance on how to interpret your results. It's a wonderful tool.
