All this book did was make me think I would do badly on the actual test.... until I realized that the authors don't know what they are talking about. A lot of the items are so poorly worded that it is impossible to get them right even if you understand the concepts behind them. My personal favorite was when the book tried to tell me I was wrong in saying that the spinal cord is part of the central nervous system. Typos everywhere. Don't buy this book- go for one written by professionals who actually understand their field.

This book was great, it's pretty much only practice exams. I already had a master's in psychology going into the subject test, but as my concentration was animal behavior- I didn't know any social psychology. This book didn't teach me social psychology, but it directed me towards what I had to study. If I didn't know a name or concept in the practice questions, I would look it up- I actually ended up buying a developmental psych textbook because I found out I was really clueless about that area. Anyway, some of the practice questions in this book actually showed up on the real test! The bottom line is- this book will not teach you psychology (although the answer key does give you brief explanations), it's really just good for practice and for identifying what it is you need to study.
