I entered the serial number, but the registration does not work. It gives idiotic/incorrect messages such as the grade needs to be entered (the grade is nowhere required), empty shopping cart, incorrect password (the entered one being correct), that login field is empty (when it is not empty). Even though this is a 2011 book, you get sent to a 2010 page. I wasted more than half an hour, and the only result was numerous and different error messages.
Except for the tests, this book is appears to be the same with Kaplan's 2011 ACT "Strategies, Practice, and Review". I compared the English and Reading chapters of the two books and found all these chapters to be basically identical (same examples are used in both books). Regarding the tests, Act 2011 "Strategies" book has 3 practice tests (2 in the book, 1 online), and ACT 2011 "Premier" has 6 tests (4 in the book + 2 on a CD). Regarding the CD, its files are dated between 1999 and 2005, so, it looks like nothing was changed...Read more

EXCELLENT ACT TEST PREP. GREAT RESOURCES. Starting this early helps & take the act test more than 1 time also helps.,

This really helps prepare the student for the ACT. Most helpful were *ACT Live Online--an online event that lets students interact with peers and have test questions answered by Kaplan ACT experts . and Fast Fact Videos--Kaplan's best tutors review the most important concepts from each chapter in 3-4 minute video presentations. Do not wait until 11th grade get this program and study that vocaublary and test a lot.
We have found it does pay to take the ACT several times starting as early as possible and study as much as possible with a good vocabulary program. With my family, we found the best paypff of higher ACT scores was to take the ACT in 9th grade, 2 times in 10th grade then 1 to 2 times in 11. (We got 2 partial scholarships and 1 full scholarship just from the ACT scores alone)

This is where we're coming from: I got this for a High School Junior taking the ACT at the end of 11th grade year. My daughter is a fairly smart girl, going to a fairly good school and we thought that this product might take the place of a formal ACT prep course.
We were wrong.
The book itself is great. The sample problems and the accompanying CD will provide hours and hours of practice for the ACT, and if you have a child that is completely a self-starter and willing to go through page after page and chapter after chapter of problems in a work-book, then this is absolutely the product for you.
My daughter, who I will refer to as a "typical teen", didn't get as much use out of it as I had hoped. She really didn't see the point of practicing the (generally) same thing over and over. I'm not sure that the book does a great job of giving a graduated method of problem presentation. It certainly wasn't enough to make her want to come home every night and...Read more
