LSAT Reading: Master the Toughest Section on the LSAT,
November 27, 2011 Scott M. Reed (Virginia Beach, VA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Kaplan LSAT Reading Comprehension Strategies and Tactics (Kaplan LSAT Strategies and Tactics) (Paperback)
Over the last 5 years, LSAT has undertaken an explicit and deliberate course to raise the rigor of its reading section. While the clearest indicator of this journey was the introduction of paired passages in June, 2007, LSAT has also heightened the difficulty of this section by increasing passage length, offering more complex passage structure and vocabulary, and testing passages with abstract points of view. In a plain, direct, and yet comprehensive manner, Scott Emerson describes the inner workings of the current LSAT reading sections and identifies and applies efficient strategies to master this section of the LSAT. Scott is especially insightful in analyzing and deciphering LSAT RC Inference questions, now almost 40% of the section. If you desire an LSAT score rendering you eligible for a top-tier school, read and practice the methods Scott models in this extremely accessible textbook.
Good resource for perparing for LSAT,

This is a complete reference for preparing for Reding Comprehension for LSAT. It's not sparkling prose, but it will serve as a good basis for preparation.

Kaplan is always reliable -- easy to follow and great examples. The format of the book is great, and the text is fluid and chapters are organized well. My only complaint is that the price for a new copy is way too high -- ask a friend who's done with the LSATs to sell you their Kaplan copy from the previous year. You'll save a ton of money.
