If you're like me and never seemed to understand math when you were younger, got through college somehow without having to take math (except statistics) but still have to take the GRE these books are for you. Seriously, I love these books so much they've eased some of my anxiety about test taking. The set is definitely large but if you're committed to really studying, the books are very clear and have plenty of practice questions. There are lots of tricks one can use to save time on test day. I'm giving myself about 5 months to prepare because I've never done well on standardized tests. I'm on month two of these books and got through two of them completely so far. You can jump around, they're not really in order.
Also, the vocabulary flash cards ( there are two sets and you have to buy separately) are great too really concise.I'm not a book learner usually, but I don't think I'll be needing a tutor as originally planned because these books are that easy to understand. It's...Read more

Mediocre review set,

I got the GRE revised Manhatten review set because it came with free practice tests online. However, I took the GRE and it was painfully apparent that the actual GRE test was much harder than the review tests that Manhatten had online, so be aware of that!!! Also, the real GRE test had statistics questions on it and the manhatten GRE book series does not include statistics practice (I was EXTREMELY mad about this). The books are also riddled with type-os, not such a big deal for you getting a good score, but just sloppy quality. If you get these books, then make absolutely sure you check out the ETS book so you don't miss anything.

I only purchased the verbal sections of the series from a bookstore nearby, in my opinion:
a. The text completion and sentence equivalence section really helped me improve my scores. The end of the book has Idioms, root lists and 1000 essential & 1000 advanced words list with illustrated usage in sentences in a catchy way like " "Cramming" vocabulary words probably won't be very efective, but studying a little every day will redound to your success", thus making the contextual use of some obscure words easier. the words they claim are the same as their flashcards, but I heard the cards also have related words, which definitely helps to remember certain words. Eg. Disingenuous = insincere, and related words are 'dissembling' and 'prevaricating'.
b.Although reading comprehension section has a lot of tips, they are good only if you can practice a lot. The practice problems on the verbal section are tougher than the ones on GRE. Definitely helpful...Read more
