This book is great if you need to refresh your memory from the basic algebra, when they only had books. It takes you step-by-step. I have used it to refresh, and I have loaned it to two older adults that went back for their Bachelors Degree. It drastically helped both. It is also good if you have kids and they need help w/homework. Cannot go wrong with this book.
