Summary: perfect phrases TOEFL companion 2008-08-04
Comment: This book is NOT a total TOEFL preparation book nor does it claim to be. Look at the title! It's for the speaking and writing sections only. The book is small in size, but the pages have the same number of words as a "regular" text. The book is filled with sample essays and speaking responses. The size is what it is because it's part of McGraw-Hill's "Perfect Phrases" collection. My students and I have really liked it. There's nothing else on the market quite like it.

Summary: Barely Any Content 2008-08-02
Comment: This book was a HUGE disappointment.
It is so small, and the book has lots of filler and wasted space, (like vocabulary definitions, which can be found anywhere). There are hardly any answers or test content; the page size is so tiny; it's a pocket-sized book. This book is just a shameful moneygrab, a TERRIBLE product. Save your money and buy better IBT TOEFL books like Delta or Longman guides.

Comment: The phrases really helped me prepare for the speaking and writing sections. Actually, they've helped my English overall. A very clever, helpful book.
