Summary: Humanities CLEP Book 2008-12-16
Comment: I am a single mother of 5 young children who is trying to get her BSN. I have not been in school for over 13 yrs. and now taking one class at a time to upgrade my degree from associate's in nursing to bachelors..I'm doing it via online classes and will be taking my FIRST CLEP exam in a couple of weeks...I found this review book WAY better than my school tutorial in terms of prep. I think this book was the item that really showed me the true diversity of info I "thought" I knew... I would highly recommend this book, along with the encouragement for anyone to access/purchase online CLEP review study material. Instacert is one I am using along w/ this CLEP book, and it gives me the opportunity to put my information learned to the test.

Comment: You will not get an 80 using this book, but one often forgets that the point is simply to pass. Using only this book, common sense, and my own general knowledge, I managed to get a 67 on the CLEP exam. More than enough. They build a large curve into the exam and ask so many questions (130) because they expect everyone to get many of them wrong. Don't be afraid to get a lot of incorrect answers. I reckon I answered about 30% incorrectly and still scored just fine.

Summary: Breaks down the basics you will need to know 2008-07-24
Comment: I bought this Humanities CLEP review along with the REA. I'm sure the REA was helpful to some degree, but it was so massive I just felt overwhelmed. The very size of most humanities study books was overwhelming to me. Eckert has such a great system of breaking the basics down into easy to follow and remember sections in one-third the space of other books. I studied this book almost exclusively, took the exam last week and made a 73 (out of a possible 80) on the Humanities CLEP.

Comment: While this is a decent supplement, there is no way I could have passed the test using only this book. The Humanities test required numerous different resources.
