Summary: "Mysteries of Spanish Verbs Revealed" 2004-09-01
Comment: So far, so good. Patrick Jackson at
www.LearningSpanishLIkeCrazy.com recommended it to me and said that
it is one of the best books on the topic of Spanish verbs. Maybe
because the book focuses on that one topic and nothing else. What I
like most about this book is that it is full of exercises. Nearly
every page on the book has a written exercise. The answers can be
found at the end of the book. The only thing I didn't like about it
is that it also teaches the vosotros form of you.

Summary: These are the 2 best Spanish books I own out of about 15 2003-05-07
Comment: If you want the punchline quick -- buy these 2 books now and be amazed at the bargain you are getting. I have been teaching myself Spanish for close to 2 years now and have bought about 15 books. These 2 are the best of the bunch. I am an American, currently in Santiago studying for 2 weeks. Last week my bag was stolen with my Spanish Verbs book by Dorothy Richmond in it, so I am on Amazon ordering another copy. She uses wonderful examples, so you practice, practice, practice. What I especially love is that tho the focus is on specific verb tenses or specific pronouns or prepositions, she always uses full sentences so you will be effortlessly building your vocabulary. I also like that she uses practice sentences that are really useful -- you will really learn to say the things you really want to say if you are in a Spanish speaking country. I had basic Spanish in high school about 35 years ago and had forgotten 95% of it when I started studying on my own again 2 years ago. Everywhere I have gone in Chile, people have raved at my excellent grammar and verb conjugation. I really must say that I owe a disproportionate share of the credit to Dorothy Richmond. You will love both her books. I just wish she would write some more, because I would instantly buy anything with her name on it as the author. I am racking my brains to say something critical, so you won't think I am biased, but I can honestly say I can't think of even one tiny thing to say to criticize these 2 books. They are both wonderful!
