The Scholarship Handbook 2011 provides the most complete and authoritative facts about more than 1.7 million awards, including scholarship, internship and loan programs offered to undergraduates by foundations, charitable organizations, and state and federal government agencies. Every entry is verified by the College Board to be legitimate, up to date, accurate, and portable to more than one college.
This guide includes a planning calendar and worksheets to organize and keep track of applications. Indexes help students find programs by eligibility criteria — such as minority status, religious affiliation, state of residence and intended field of study — so they can quickly zero in on scholarships for which they qualify.

This review is from: Scholarship Handbook 2011 (College Board Scholarship Handbook) (Paperback) I've been slowly looking through the Handbook a little each night to make sure I don't miss any scholarship opportunities. I like the way it is categorized so that I can immediately check out all of the categories that apply to my son.
A friend of mine used this Handbook for both of her daughters and was able to cover almost all of their college needs (tuition, fees and room and board). For her daughter that started college this year at a small private college in Florida, she only has to pay for books. Everything else was covered through scholarships. Hopefully, I'll have the same result. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By F. Nightingale (Hercules, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Scholarship Handbook 2011 (College Board Scholarship Handbook) (Paperback) This would be ideal for students who are already in college, not for incoming freshman. The scholarships were geared towards those students. Also, it would have been nice to see a section divided by majors or careers. I went to the library and checked out Peterson's Scholarships, Grants & Prizes 2011, and it was packed full of information and different sections which made it easier to narrow down all off those scholarships and other forms of financial aid. I was disappointed with this book. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) It wasn't that helpful for general (generic) scholarships. |
