Okay, here's the scoop. I recently completed my MBA at the Oxford Said School. Although I only applied to one school and got accepted (my first choice), I studied the admissions "game" of a few other top schools, purchased some half dozen admissions books, went to several b-school promotional seminars, drafted MBA essays, and made numerous visits to MBA school websites. So, for what it's worth to other readers, I'll state my case.

In terms of the book's analytical, to-the-point approach, I give it a 5-star rating. It's the only book I found with a complete set of sample documents including a diverse selection of essays, filled out interview evaluation form, letters of recommendation, resumes, employment records, and extracurricular presentations. It focuses on each of the seven MBA application components and gives better advice on how to actually write business school essays than does any other b-school book on the market.
