Looking for a book that includes all the information a community college student needs to know when they arrive on campus?  The Community College Experience, PLUS Edition 2/e is the survival book with all the study skills and life skills material plus encouragement for the community college student to succeed.  Each chapter opens with a real-to-life student story related to the chapter topic and contains a dilemma. The student employs higher order thinking through in-chapter exercises that require them to think critically, discuss and collaborate, problem solve, and finally apply a solution to the chapter opener. Students are also directed to reflect on their own backgrounds, personalities, and learning preferences to make decisions about actions they would and should take.

Excellent for those entering or returning to college. Addresses all major stumbling blocks that appear to impede progress in college in general. Has a special community college twist as it addresses both the traditional and non-traditional student.

I purchased this book without the ISBN number, so ended up with the wrong version of it, but it was close enough to what my class was using that my instructor let me keep and use it in class. It wasn't in quite as good of shape as advertised, but works for what I needed, so I am keeping it rather than exchange it for the right version and wait out the time. I needed it now, so it turned out ok for me. Next time I will make sure I have the ISBN number before ordering when there are several versions of the same book.
