Helpful but you can't use it on the LSAT,

This has been helpful for pacing, but I've just learned, and this is a quote directly from LSAC, "The only timing devices allowed at LSAT test centers are analog wristwatches."
It seems best to practice with the actual timer you use during the test, so I wouldn't recommend buying this. I'm just glad I learned this now so that I don't show up to the test center without an "acceptable" timing device.

As another reviewer pointed out, this is not for taking in to the actual test with you. The LSAC has banned all digital timers- silent or not. However, that isn't what this timer is for, so I don't think it deserved a poor rating for that reason. If you're doing practice test (and you MUST, to do your best) this is the perfect timer. This timer helped me internalize how much time I had for each question/page/section. I scored in the 99th percentile, and I couldn't have done it without this timer. Now that I teach the LSAT, I recommend this to all of my students. I have seen students of all ability levels improve their timing from using this (or similar) timers. Since running out of time is a huge source of anxiety, I find not having to worry about that also helps accuracy. A word to the wise: whether you buy this timer or not, find some way to time yourself well and develop a internal sense of how much time you have so that you don't waste time checking an analog clock...Read more

Can't use it on the LSAT; probably shouldn't practice with it, either,

I stupidly bought this not realizing you can't use this on the LSAT. I would say it's good for practice, except the best way to practice is the same way you're going to do it on the test -- with a clock on the wall or a non-digital wristwatch. If you get used to using this digital countdown during practice, it will hurt you on the actual test. I got fairly used to using it, and then just before the real test, I started practicing without it and found myself messing up my timing and panicking at the end. I would suggest not using this at all.
